Personal Care – this may include help with bathing, showering, toileting, dressing / undressing / getting in and out of bed, washing and drying hair and reminding you take your medication. $67.26

Light Gardening – this may include help with light weeding, watering, light pruning, lawn mowing or minor garden maintenance. $80.02
Respite Care – this is where a care worker supports you while your carer is away or unavailable. $67.26
Shopping – this may include help with writing a shopping list, having a care worker help you to go shopping, they may go and shop for you form a list and help with carrying shopping into your home and putting your shopping away. $67.26
Transport – this may include help with transport to attend appointments, social occasions, shopping and running errands. $67.26
Nursing – this may include services provided by a Registered Nurse, including wound care, catheter care, general health and other assessments, certain medical tests including blood pressure and support with dementia. This price does not include the price for goods such as bandages, dressings and continence aids where required. $150

Wendy’s links you to your very own Care Manager who works with you to create your own plan for living independently at home, enjoying the things that you love to do in the place that you love to be! Your Care Manager will work with you to set up everything, from help around the house to linking you with social and community activities, to ensuring your clinical care needs are taken care of so you stay well at home.

You are never alone with our Care Managers who help you navigate the system and take the stress out of setting up the best support at home, tailored to what you need. We work alongside you every step of the way, respecting that you are the expert in how you live your life and what is important to you. Our Care Managers use their local knowledge to coordinate the very best staff and services you need and check in with you to ensure things are working just as you want them to.

Package Management

There is a huge amount of behind the scenes work that is needed to ensure that your home care package is run correctly and in accordance with the government regulations, guidelines, and rules appropriate to ensuring that spending of public funding is managed to the highest standard. Wendy’s package management fee covers the reasonable price of delivering this extensive ‘back of house’ work which ensures that administration, logistics, reporting, and quality compliance are all covered for your package, which includes:

  • Establishing and managing home care budgets

  • Preparing invoices and monthly statements

  • Organising third party services

  • Buying equipment (such as mobility aids)

  • Managing invoice payments, enquiries, and issues

  • Arranging allowable home modifications (such as bath rails)

  • Submitting claims to Services Australia

  • Storing, maintaining, and protecting records

  • Ensuring staff are suitable (such as with police checks and immunisation checks)

  • Training and educating staff

  • Conducting quality improvement, compliance, and assurance activities

  • Completing financial reporting

  • Maintaining and updating income tested care fees that the government asks you to contribute (if relevant)

  • Maintaining work health and safety compliance including best practice infection prevention and control measures

Wendy’s fees are in line with industry averages, and we have always intentionally designed our fee structure in a way that is transparent to our clients. We have never had any hidden costs and we have never penalised anyone for choosing to procure care or services from other providers. We are always as flexible as we can be in facilitating our clients individual care needs and requirements.

Basic Daily Fee – the basic daily fee is an amount that everyone can be asked to pay, but providers do not have to charge this fee. Wendy’s does not charge the basic daily fee. $0
Entry / Exit Fees – these are additional fees that are charged when you either take up a package with a provider or exit from your home care package. These fees are no longer allowed to be charged. Wendy’s does not charge entry or exit fees. $0
Use of third-party provider Fee – these are additional fees that are charged when you choose to procure equipment, modifications, or services from a provider other than your home care package provider. Wendy’s does not charge additional fees if you choose to use other providers / suppliers. $0
Additional time needed with your Care Manager – there may be times where you need extra help from your Care Manager. Wendy’s will never charge you for requiring additional assistance, we are available when you need us, and this service is already covered by your care management fee. $0
Income Tested Fee – the income tested fee is a contribution that some people are required to pay, based on their individual income assessment. Not everyone has to pay an income tested fee. If you are required to pay an income tested fee, we will be advised of this by the Government when you complete your income assessment. Most of our clients are not required to pay an income tested fee. We can assist you to estimate if this is something you may be required to pay before you take up your package.
